Setting Up Server 2012 Print Server Mac And Ubuntu"MS Publisher Imagesetter" is the printer driver.Do I need to install both the HP P3015 and Brother DCP-7065DN printer drivers on the RDS server? UPDATEAs and answered, Easy Print is only supported when the clients are Windows.I'm using Mac and Ubuntu clients. I have configured the clients to redirect and use the printer driver that the client is using. This is resulting in Windows RDS server installing the same driver on initial connection which is fine. However, the printer once redirected continues to use "MS Publisher Imagesetter" and not the correct driver that was auto-installed.I wonder if the reason for this is that the driver that gets installed on RDS is x64 and the clients are using x86 drivers. It tried installing the HP driver x86 version, but Windows Server complains and says that x86 drivers cannot be installed.I've determined the issue is caused by the RDP client (FreeRDP) I'm using for both Mac and Ubuntu. The PaperCut TCP/IP Port can also be used, but this is only recommended when doing Hardware Page Checks. If you are setting up a Find-Me printer, then the port should be set to ‘nul’. For most printers, the port should be a Standard TCP/IP Port that points to the IP address of your printer. What sort of port should you use? Well, that depends… Printer ports are different from a firewall port and traditionally referred to physical ports on the computer like COM1 and LPT1, but nowadays this is where you go to specify the IP address of your printer. ![]() The Printing Defaults button lets you set default options for all users like default page size or color preference. Disabling this setting ensures that PaperCut can accurately read the spool files of the print job, which in turn enables a number of PaperCut features such as precise page count and color detection, grayscale conversion, and watermarking. Uncheck Enable Advanced Printing Features to prevent the driver from spooling print jobs in proprietary print languages instead of PCL or PostScript. About the setting Start printing after the last page is spooled, this will be automatically configured by PaperCut to so that the document can be fully analyzed before it is sent to the printer. See our article about Supported Printers for more details. Configure printers to use a Standard TCP/IP port. Check that Render print jobs on client computers is enabled. The Print Server Name should be 15 characters or less. The Printer Share Name should be shorter than 32 characters. Follow the guidance from Microsoft regarding this configuration on the machine. This will cause a failure in the spooler service when print drivers not written for enterprise environments get installed due to printer redirection.
